Speed dating make sure you clean your teeth

Speed dating – want a successful evening? Be warned, 3 out of 5 UK men & women say stained, grotty teeth are a complete turn-off! New research shows that singletons are flocking to speed dating events across the globe in their quest to find Mr or Ms right. Yet, they may be forgetting that small but crucial things like a clean white smile are ruining their chances of making the right impression on the night with the opposite sex! In a world where everyone wishes for a 25th hour, speed dating has become one of the hottest ways to meet that very special person in just one night. With this in mind, Smart Dating UK has commissioned new research to discover just how important white teeth and a bright smile can be when creating a first impression. The report shows that over 60% of speed daters said that they wouldn't give a person with stained or yellow teeth the time of day, and 70% are first attracted to someone by their smile. With speed dating allowing just three short minutes to create a lasting impression, Tracey Cox, TV's dating expert reveals her ‘top tips' on how to make a get noticed when it counts: Step 1. Double up on the smiles: Smiling is contagious and it's the quickest, most subtle way to show interest without looking desperate. Greet them with a broad, friendly grin, which shows all your teeth. Step 2. Look at their mouth loads: The more we're attracted to someone, the more time we spend looking at their mouth. It's a very, very sexy gesture because the person can't help but think I wonder if they're imagining what it would be like to kiss me? Step 3. Put a pen in your mouth or stroke your lips: If you've got great teeth, you're effectively pointing to one of your best assets. Plus you're sending a pseudo sexual signal because mouths are an erotic zone. Step 4. Use the killer threesome: Combine a smile, leaning forward and a touch and you've sent the clearest signal you find them attractive. What's more, the speed dating research shows that a smile wins first time, every time with 1 in 3 people in the UK claiming that they judge a person by their smile. Catherine Zeta Jones' pearly whites were voted ‘the most perfect smile' by over a third of women, but lets face it she pays a small fortune for those dazzlers. Yet, looking after our teeth doesn't have to cost the earth, Dr Julian Chen, (the man who knows teeth - Dental Consultant) advises: “We all know that coffee and red wine are two of the worst culprits for causing stained teeth. However, by attempting to include alternatives like white wine or herbal tea means we don't have to live in complete abstinence from our creature comforts. There are also quick and easy ways to reverse teeth staining the professional way or now via teeth whitening products available over the counter.” Don’t forget, white teeth and a bright smile are just as important in an interview situation. 1 in 10 people in the UK would think twice about employing someone with stained teeth, so maximising your smile not only helps you land Mr or Ms Right, but also the career you’re chasing, because after all creating the right first impression counts in all situations. Happy speed dating!

On anxiety and dating

It is already six o'clock. You are ready for the big date. Well, almost. The little black dress that you bought at Neiman-Marcus still hangs in your closet. Feeling butterflies in the stomach, you reach for it and slip it on (for the tenth time), and zipped it up. Perfect. Well, almost. All glammed up and ready to go. You've got the vanity kit in the purse, the make-up's been re-touched, and the mandatory spritz of perfume is through. You've got everything in place, well, except for the guy. “Where is my date?”, you ask. A million other questions race through your mind. You can't help think about whether he was in a car accident or, even worse, if he changed his mind about the date. Feeling the anxiety now creeping through your body, you dial his cellphone number. He answers the phone and tells you in a half-embarrassed voice that he is now your front porch. The immediately, you hear the doorbell. “He's here!”, you silently scream in your as you glide down the staircase. Of course, you first had to take one last look at the mirror to check your teeth, hair, and dress before taking that one long breath of air. Finally, you open the door and given out your sweetest smile to the guy --- your date, who, at least came, even if he was 20 minutes late. This scenario describes how one woman can feel the anxiety when it comes to dating. The emotional roller coaster of preparing and waiting for the date --- not to mention the actual outcome of it --- can put even the most stable of women in panic. It has been a tradition for almost everyone to have dates in order to know more about each other, spend time together, and see if your attitudes, beliefs, or interests are compatible. Of course, not all expectations or agreements about this thing or that thing are met with ease. Dating is necessary because it takes time to know a person well, and hopefully, after that, the simple getting-to-know-you would blossom into a good relationship. But not all people are accustomed to or even ready to have a date. Dating is considered as a social event, where two people are dressed up appropriately based on where they are going, or what activity they are going to do. In these times, dating can be done in various ways, not just the candle lit dinner for two setup. Double dates, group dates, blind dates, and even the ones where you go to a certain spot, be with nineteen other women and twenty guys that you have not met, and go on rotation to speak with a man for at least five minutes. Speed dating, anyone? Crazy, right? Still, even with all the innovations on how to meet and date people, some individuals still find it a struggle to actually be around others of their kind. The fact of being near other people can stress out or cause panic is such a serious concern that there is even a term for it --- Social Anxiety. Social anxiety often refers to fear and worry about being around other people or of establishing contact with another person for the first time. In a society like ours, they are often seen as loners, anti-socials, or wallflowers. In a scene like that, a person dealing with social anxiety might just run, be silent for the rest of the night, or even faint! Those with this type of anxiety disorder may often experience sweaty hands, butterflies in the stomach, and nagging thoughts about not being “good enough” for the person they are about to meet. Needless to say, any feeling of anxiety may be considered normal as long as it does not interrupt with your daily routine or with prevents a person from having a happy, fulfilled life. Every single person on earth wants the best, and by that, it means that all of us aspire to look good, feel good, and show how wonderful we are as human beings --- especially during a date. In dating, a person feels the anxiety before or during a date --- which is perfectly all right. Taking time to relieve the anxiety is key before going on a date. What then should be the first step an anxious dater should take before going out? Deep breathing can really help ease nervousness. Focusing on the other person (or your date) and not just obsessing about whether you will be liked or not is a good start, too. Most of all, just be yourself. People who suffer from social anxiety should participate in social therapy and treatment in order to decrease their fear of meeting other people. It is essential for a person to grow and interact with others, so it is wise to address this kind of anxiety as soon as possible. Going out on a date need not be such a hassle. It should be one of the most fun things every one should try and experience.

Personals ad 6 guidelines to be effective

Are you racking your brains to come up with a 'cool' personal ad to attract the sweetie you've been dreaming of? Have lost count of how many times you had to erase the ad you've written? Or are you simply at a loss of ideas to write a proper personal ad? Well buddies don't worry. Answer is so very simple, I could just put the trick down to 6 easy steps so you'd read them in a minute and surely find yourself equipped with the perfect personal ad in no time. Just follow 'em and see how effective it is! Identify yourself - The most difficult person to understand…is not your girlfriend or boyfriend. It is your own self! Spend few moments to analyze and understand who you are. Are you a serious type of a person? Go getter? Cheerleader? Understand your own personality and try to express it clearly in your personal ad. Look at your primary desires - This is very important guys. I've seen many people posting personals just because their friends are do so and it is an 'in thing' to lie on the net and cheat on some unsuspecting soul. Avoid this mistake at all costs. Next time you might be the pray! Instead, identify your true desires and prioritize them. Put down the main and important ones in your personal ad. This will attract matching profiles much faster. Identify key aspects of your partner - When you know who you are and what your desires are, next question is what you expect from your partner. Many personals I have come across only concentrate and elaborate on 'what they expect from the partner'. I advise you to be straight about what you expect from your partner and be generous. Don't express the idea that you expect too much. Start with a simple but attractive self description - Once you have clarified what I have explained above…..start writing! Put down an attractive self introduction. (I didn't mean 'smart, out going' lot!) Try to make it sound truthful. Don't overestimate or underestimate yourself. Add more personality to your copy - Give that living, breathing touch to your personal ad. Add variety and breakaway from the norm! Add spice and the feeling of honesty to it. Be honest - This will make your ad different and attractive. Your personal ad will stand out from the rest. Let me tell you guys, being truthful from the very beginning makes it very easy if the relationship really grew to a more serious level. Try this and you are sure to win someone as honest as you.

What should i tell my date about me

Good question? When you first start dating it’s important to tell the person you’re dating important information about yourself before you get too deep into the relationship. You say, well isn’t my name, occupation, hobbies, address and telephone number enough? No, not if you’re withholding information from the other person you’re dating. The information you need to tell your date may be important to that person in deciding whether or not they want to remain in a relationship with you. It’s best to let them know about you right from the start! You don’t want this to become a problem for you later on down the line. If the person you’re dating chooses not to continue dating you, then move on to someone else that will deal with you the way you are in a relationship with them. That way, you’ll both be happier. So, you want to know what types of things you should let your date know about you, here are some tips and information that may assist you with this: 1) Let your date know that you have children. Most people don’t have a problem with their date having children. You may find in most cases that your date may have kids themselves and may not be sure how to approach this subject as well. So why not tell your date! It’s good to let your date know early on if you have kids. There are some people that don’t want to date someone that has kids. If this is the case with your date, then they’ve found out early from you, that you have kids and you can both move on to someone else. Go ahead, get if off your chest, you’ll feel good that you did! 2) Let your date know if you have a criminal record. Yes, your date should know if you’ve spent time in jail for a crime you’ve committed. You say you’ve done your time, why does my date need to know this information? They need to know because, this may come out in the relationship at a later time when you least expect it, especially if you’re on probation! How would you explain to someone you’re dating that you need to meet with your parole officer after your date just happened to take a phone message from your probation officer while you were busy in your kitchen cooking a romantic dinner for the both of you. Oops! See how awkward that would be for you! Be up front, let your date know about your criminal history if you have one. 3) If you’ve got bad credit let your date know about your credit history. If you’ve been dating for awhile and you’re getting serious about each other, let your date know that your credit isn’t good. This will eliminate surprises for you and your date if you decide that you want a long term relationship. Your date will know that your credit is not so perfect. 4) Tell your date if you’re unable to have children or just don’t want to have any kids. Let your date know about this early on when you start dating! If your date wants children, they will have a choice to exit the relationship with you early on. You will also have the same opportunity, because you would have found out that your date wanted children and you do not. 5) Tell your date about any health problems that you may have that would affect your relationship. It’s important that you reveal to the person you’re dating any health problems you have so they can decide early on if they will be able to handle this as part of your relationship. If they can’t, then move on to someone else who does not have a problem with this. Remember, there’s always other fish in the sea that will accept you for who you are! 6) Anything else you believe is important for your date to know about you before you get too deep into your relationship! By providing your date with important information about you, this gives them a choice to determine whether or not they’ll continue dating you. More important, you’re being honest in the relationship. In addition, it shows that not only do you respect yourself, you take responsibility by being forthright with respecting others rights to make their own choice about whether or not they want to be with you in a long term relationship!

First dates

There is nothing more intimidating than the idea of a first date, unless of course it is getting up the courage to ask for that first date. In fact, most of us will not even get to the point of asking four out of five times. So what if you finally get up the courage and, to your delight, the person says yes? Well, your adventures through the land of intimidation are just about to begin. The agony of the first date begins when you try to decide what to do. The conversation often becomes bogged down right here - you do not want to choose a date that the other person will hate, nor do you want to choose a generic date that anyone could have dreamed up. Some safe ideas are the old standbys - a night at the movies, dinner in a restaurant with a few options (nothing too specific or risquй like sushi or Indian yet), a day in the park. If you play your cards right, the conversation should lead you to a point where you both find out interesting facts about each other that will serve two advantages - the first is that you have a curiosity about each other, the second is that it gives an opportunity to plan and get a set time for the second date. This date is great as it allows for a demonstration of your listening abilities and the opportunity to expand your dating options into other safe areas. Choose a date that will allow you alone time without adding the burden of too much privacy. This will allow you both to feel comfortable and keep the conversation flowing. Your first date should also include some good conversation starters as well. This is why the movies and perhaps a desert or coffee afterwards are a good idea. You can go to the theater and both of you can decide on the movie, and afterwards the movie itself should provide ample fodder for conversation. There are several signs that the date is going well. One of these is laughter - if you are both laughing, the odds are very high that you are having a good time. There is nothing more rewarding than female laughter on a date; it means that you are in the door of approval. Don’t overdo it though, and don’t try to play for laughs. Understated humor is the best way to go. Time seeming to fly by is another good indicator of a successful date, as we never have enough time when we are enjoying ourselves. There are some suicidal moves and places when it comes to first dates. Bars immediately spring to mind. Many bars are filled with juvenile minded people (mostly young men) who are seeking to prove their manliness to a public that is in no need of convincing by looking for fights. If you happen to be a big guy, you will present an immediate target. This will inevitably result in a no win situation. Fights are a ridiculous behavior for an adult to engage in, nevertheless you may be forced into a situation where one cannot be avoided. There are lots of contingent consequences, including a possible loss of respect from your date and even charges. Bars also have the implication of heavy drinking, and your date may think you are trying to get her drunk to take advantage. If you both find out that you enjoy dancing, try to go to one of the higher class watering holes in your area. Otherwise, avoid bars altogether on the first date.

The irresistible power of dating other women variety brings spice to life

I have decided to bring upfront this important aspect of the dating scenario – multiple choices of women that lie ahead of all of us. This should be one of your primary priority area of consideration – because it is under your control if you so decide. There happens to be existing a bit of dichotomy in this dating game – mostly created by women themselves. For your understanding, I want to break the existing myth – women do not like men dating more than one man. Did I hear someone say - Monogamous? So many times I have heard some one say something on similar lines: - This one’s made just for me. - I knew she should be just right for me - I know my soul mate, when I see one - God, help me, I don’t want to lose her The lists of such exclamations are endless. A man meets a woman, finds her extremely beautiful and desirable, and then goes and spoils it all by idolizing her. He instantly puts her on a pedestal and from then on his entire world revolves around her. What a waste, what a mistake! This kind of infatuation and fixation is a sure no-no for women. It kills any sense of excitement and thrill expected to exist in a budding relationship. Let me take you through a discussion, where I analyze WHY you should keep on seeing other women, even if you have your eyes fixed on one. 1. Attitude and confidence – Open other windows When you are “fixed” or “stuck” with only one woman, you immediately shut out any buffer zone – or the comfort zone, which all of us need, in case something goes seriously wrong. In case she gets you out of her life – you spend the next few miserable months, or even years, thinking what is it that you said wrong, did wrong or hurt her unintentionally. Remember that song of the Beatles – Yesterday? You keep on longing for that single Yesterday. Since you have pinned all your hopes, aspirations and dreams on one solitary woman, you have lost all your sense of balance and proportion. Our inherent “fear of loss” arises out of the belief that there are “no options” anymore. This is it. The moment you realize – O my God, so many women, so little time, your spirit automatically lifts up sky high. As a natural consequence, you will relax, learn to be calm and collected in your deportment. You no longer fear any one, now, isn’t that a wonderful feeling? 2. Perspective and comparison – Compare, Contrast, Consider If you start believing that the single woman who you have selected is the end all and be all of life, how are you going to assess her unless you know some other women too? You need to draw some kind of standard parameter guidelines, by which you can weigh the attraction level and find rationality for your feelings. If you have nothing else to compare her with, how will you ever know the millions of alternative behavioral norms that even exist? 3. Perceived value – Women’ envy, Owners’ pride! Women go for the Jones’s. Whatever the neighbor (in this case read it as other women) has, I must have it too. Right from jewellery, clothes, perfume to men! A man who is popular, talked about, seen everywhere and goes around with another woman, well, what is he like, is there any chance for me? Make a beeline for him! Join the race. A man who is WANTED. Who you see at the pub is ordinary, within reach. The “unconquered” triggers the killer instinct. 4. The Obsessive Self-destruct – Killing You Softly Any sort of compulsion results in hasty, unrealistic and destructive decisions. The moment the world of choices open up, you automatically cease to show any compulsive behavior. The essence of this message is that you see and date as many women as there are available, till you meet the most promising one and it should be YOU who take the final call and NOT the woman! 5. Don’t let her feel “tied” down too early Women hate to be treated exclusively right from the word go. Even if your intention is a temporary liaison, she gets a wrong signal. She immediately concludes that you are intent on a serious monogamous relationship. Now her pace and sense of rhythm does not allow this. The whole episode then becomes full of disharmony. So the take home is message is this: Keep your options open. Keep all windows open. Date as many women as you like, more so, if you have located the woman of your dreams. Do not over-indulge or spoil everything by idolizing her. To keep her interests alive, see other women. It pays, both in the short and long run.
